This episode features Ostrów Tumski. It is the oldest area of the city of Wrocław and its heart is the St. John the Baptist Cathedral. Just like any other part of the city, Ostrów Tumski has been subjected to many changes in its history, and what we have today is the result of the changes over centuries. Rather than being simply a “historical” site, it consitutes a “spiritual” centre of the city of Wrocław.

During this Summer holiday season, the WrocławWeekly podcast brings you the images and sound from the city of Wrocław and the area nearby.
The first episode of the series presents the Rynek of Wrocław. “Rynek” means in Polish a “market place.” “Rynek” in Wrocław is the city’s main square and constitutes the heart of the town-center, while in other cities it is not necessarily the case. The video is in the widescreen (16:9) format.
