Not even a week has passed since the performance of Robotobibok at the screening of “Flesh And The Devil,” and we will have already another opportunity to see two musicians of the group on stage.
On Friday 09.12.2005, Artur Majewski and Kuba Suchar are to inaugulate their new project: MIKROKOLEKTYW MAJEWSKI/SUCHAR.

The gig will be a part of the “Festival of Polish Underground Artists,” an one-night event organized by Sitka, with Kristen promoting their new album “Night store”, Woody Alien (Marcin Piekoszewski and Zbyszek Jasiński from the group Plum), and finally a set by dj Pajda+dj Spasso. There will be also an exhibition of street art by Dwaesha and a performance announced only as “mysterious” by Darek Orwat.

On this Santa Claus’ Day (06.12), there will be a charity concert to help children in Tibet (currently occupied by China).
The event will cover a diversity of musical experience made in Poland: from hip-hop by Kanał Audytywny and Mat Planeta, the electronic/acoustic-percussion/female vocal of Öszibarack, to the latin rhythms of Sambasim and Samba Batucada.
There will be also a fire show by the Przestrzeń Group, an exhibition of photographs made in Tibet by Ewa Wierzbowska, and film screenings by the ROKPA Association (an organization trying to help children in the “third world”)

In Poland, we don’t get much help concerning sexually transmissible disease (such as AIDS) and its prevention. This entry is more of announcement of a project for the future database on demographic information on AIDS in Poland and other practical tips than actual publication of such data.

We believe such information can be quite useful especially when the city of Wrocław can publicly write in a flyer for Ryanair promotion:
“Wrocław Place To Discover
A city of many cultures, magnificent architectural monuments and open people. Imbued with a unique atmosphere and full of surprises. The city of the most beautiful Polish women, excellent cuisine and nightclubs open until the last guest leaves.” (text by Municipality of Wrocław, Foreign Relations Office, and our emphasis)
and the Dolnośląski region (of which Wrocław is the capital) has the highest concentration of HIV positive population in entire Poland.

The information that we will be looking for and compiling are:
1) where to buy condoms (http://www.aids.gov.pl/kampanie/2005/index.html encourage preventive protection but does not give us WHERE we can get it)
2) epidemiological demography on AIDS in Poland

1) Where to buy condoms
If you make only occasional use of condoms, you can get condoms in nearest drugstores and newsagents. Rossmann has the widest collection of Durex condoms up to 7 zl/3 pieces. If you make regular use, then you may want to buy them in bulk. Unfortunately we are still in search of information of bulk purchase in Poland. (durex.pl has 24hr-open online store but they sell durex condoms more expensive and no bulk discount: starting with “classics” 7 zl /3 pieces and many others can be 8 zl/3 pieces. To make it worse, if you like to buy 100 boxes, they just charge you 100 times more)
Alternatively you can buy from US-based online condom shops such as CondomDepot. They sell the same durex condoms for 25 USD/100 pieces + international shipping between 17 and 23 USD. Technically this is much cheaper than buying them in Rossmann (less than 2 zl/piece, or less than 6 zl/3 pieces!)
